LEAVES' EYES Frontwoman LIV KRISTINE To Record Another 'Duet' With CRADLE OF FILTH
January 9, 2006LEAVES' EYES Frontwoman Liv Kristine's official web site has been updated with a brief interview the singer recently gave to Robert Suß. It follows in its entirety:
Q: Liv, what can we expect from [your new solo single] "Fake a Smile"?
Liv Kristine: What you can expect is an EP Digipak which includes the title track in two different versions and another three non-album songs. "Fake a Smile" is a wonderful, atmospheric ballad with the touch of melancholy. It's about the cold, unemotional and grey world we are living in. We are like prisoners in our never-ending stress and life passes much too fast, just like a train hurrying through the tunnel, without really having lived it. It's difficult to get off and turn off our busy, troubled lives and turn to a quiet and beautiful place. I'm so lucky as I was born and grew up at the wonderful west coast of Norway. Now I've found my second home in the southwestern part of Germany, which is fantastic.
Q: You recently did a video clip, what do you remember from the shooting day?
Liv Kristine: I almost turned into an "ice queen!" We shot the video in Nürnberg, Germany, in a beautiful, old swimming pool, moreover, outside in the city and in the forest when it already was mid-November. The places are beautiful, but it was freezingly cold. Outside it was snowing as I was acting in front of the camera and in an evening dress you feel the low temperatures even stronger.
Q: What was your intention when working on [my new solo album] "Enter My Religion"?
Liv Kristine: Together with my co-musicians I've tried to express and show a number of thoughts, experience, dreams and even features of my own personality through the music and the lyrics on the album. My expectations towards the album were therefore very high, however, after a lot of hard work we finally reached what we had hoped for and "Enter My Religion" has really become a part of me. Without the help from my husband, the outstanding musicians and Roadrunner Records this dream could never come true. "Enter My Religion" is an invitation into my personal world."
Q: You are finished with touring, what are you doing at the moment?
Liv Kristine: My schedule says "promotional tour" and I will spend some days in Cologne, Munich and Paris for this purpose. However, I've had a few days off after the fantastic tour with LEAVES' EYES together with SUBWAY TO SALLY. I enjoy spending this valuable time together with my family. I have to take a real break every now and then to collect more energy and power for the up-coming work and challenges. Soon I will also record another duet with CRADLE OF FILTH.
